Time Marches On

It has been awhile since I have posted...time does seem to move so quickly at times in my life.  This is a busy time as my daughter is getting married May 19 and seems there have been preparations to take care of.  We met together with a few friends and assembled her invitations a few weeks ago.  A great time!  And we made omelets in bags in boiling water...a breakfast science experience that went well.  My middle son had a birthday celebration and he got a Ninentdo Wii, which has given me a new appreciation of video games.  This one is a hit!  Kids (and adults) are encouraged to get up and move around when playing the Wii.  If you haven't yet, you should try it.  I highly recommend it.  Easter came and went, but the wonder of the resurrection can be new every day if we focus on what Jesus did for us on that cross and raising from the dead.  We had a wonderful day of celebration!  My oldest son plays drums and played for 8 services at a local church.  What a joy to attend and see him using his talents for the Lord.  My married son and his wife are currently in Florida enjoying some much needed time in the sun.  Last I heard they were to spend the afternoon jet skiing.  That brings you up to date on my life.  Please take a moment and share with me a bit about you and your life!

Road Trip Follow-up

Tennesse was great fun!  Ruth, Todd and I left Wednesday evening about 9:00 p.m. and arrived in Chattanooga early Thursday morning.  After a hearty breakfast at Cracker Barrel we found a hotel that would let us check in at 8:00 a.m. and enjoyed a couple hours of sleep.  The weather wasn't great but warmer than South Bend, I lost Todd in the backwoods of Chattanooga (never fear...he was found after walking an hour and a half while pushing his bike that had a flat), Ruth got to spend lots of quality time with her friend Jackie and newborn Emma Grace, I got to tour the Hunter Art Museum, we spent time with Ruth's family, Ruth and I saw a movie with Nathan, and we attended church at Highland Park.  A busy, full few days.  We left Sunday around 3:30 p.m. and arrived home in South Bend at 1:15 a.m.   It was quick trip but we all got to do a few of the things we hoped to, and had a good time.  I even got in the first 5 chapters of the first Harry Potter book while riding.  My goal is to read the entire series...in my free time.

Road Trip

I am excited.  My daughter in law and I (along with a friend of ours) are headed for Tennessee late Wednesday night.  We will be there thru early Sunday afternoon.  Hoping for some sun and good weather.  Although today in Northern Indiana it was in the low 70's and very sunny...a glorious day!  Our friend has a 2007 Toyota Highlander Hybrid vehicle with less than 300 miles on it and that is what we will be making our road trip in.  We will be riding in style.  Funny how road trips make me feel more alive and excited about what the days ahead hold for me.  I have been to Chattanooga a number of times now, and yet I am looking forward to this trip!  Want to try to get into the art museum this time, and maybe the new section of the aquarium.  But even if I don't make it there, I am sure it will be a great time.  My daughter in law is seeing her best friend and meeting her new little girl for the first time.  Our friend will be taking his bicycle and doing some hard core training in the mountains.  And I will be enjoying all that Chattanooga offers me.

pamperedchef I hosted a Pampered Chef party at my home today.  What fun!  I love the products but especially like having people visit me.  We served a Fast and Fresh Frittata, Raspberry Almond Mini Muffins, Orange fruit cups, and had Friendship Tea, coffee, juice and milk.  The recipes can be found on the Pampered Chef website.  Check them out at www.pamperedchef.com

Healing...Sweet Relief!

Christmas2004 I am over the worst of having third molars removed.  I now awake without pain in my mouth, and am able to brush my teeth without fear!  And one day I am sure I will look back on this time with fond memories...but not yet.

On to a completely different topic...isn't family wonderful?  I was thinking about my children and how much I enjoy them.  I have the greatest kids (but I guess I am a bit prejudice) and a fabulous daughter-in-law and soon to be son-in-law.  What a blessing they are to me!  They all have lives of their own but are willing to share them with me and I so appreciate that.  Be sure to give your family hugs today :)
